A late fall roundup

Welcome to Semester-on-a-Ranch

At the edge of black lava rock and sage, lies Champagne Creek Ranch, the site of Semester-on-a-Ranch. We are excited to partner with the University of Idaho’s Rangeland Ecology to offer this program. This unique and enriching experience allows college students the immersive venture of living on working lands, while also attaining college credits. Champagne Creek Ranch is a 10,000 acre working cattle ranch that sits at the foothills of the Pioneer Mountains of Idaho, just north of Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. Semester-on-a-Ranch draws on many avenues to accomplish our goals:

  • Living–  invest yourself in a working ranch where life and decisions are driven by seasons and nature’s biological cycles
  • Land–  engage in productive landscapes and working lands in a distinctively unique fashion
  • Leadership–  earn a variety of certifications, network with producers, NGOs, and agency partners
